# Reject a Return or Exchange Request

### Overview
Reject a request when it does not meet your store's return or exchange policy.
**Step 1:** Open **Returns**.

**Step 2:** Open the request.
**Step 3:** Review the order, item, reason, and eligibility information.
**Step 4:** Click the available **Reject** action.

**Step 5:** Confirm the rejection.
Make sure your return rules are clearly communicated to customers to reduce unnecessary rejected requests.
